Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Enterprise Cloud Data Migration Engineer to play a critical role in the seamless transition of our radiology customers to our innovative cloud-based RIS and PACS platforms. You will be at the forefront of our customer deployments, responsible for the planning, execution, and validation of complex data migrations from diverse legacy systems to our secure and scalable cloud environment. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your deep understanding of radiology workflows, data formats, and cloud technologies to directly impact the success of our customers and the growth of our company.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Lead the end-to-end data migration process for enterprise-level radiology clients transitioning from their existing RIS and PACS systems to our cloud platform.

  • Collaborate closely with project managers, implementation specialists, and customer stakeholders to define migration scope, timelines, and success criteria.

  • Conduct thorough analysis of customer legacy RIS and PACS systems to understand data structures, formats (e.g., DICOM, HL7), and potential data quality issues.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive data migration strategies and plans, including data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and loading (ETL) processes.

  • Utilize automation tools to streamline and optimize data migration workflows, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

  • Configure and manage cloud-based data migration tools and services.

  • Perform rigorous data validation and reconciliation to ensure the integrity and completeness of migrated data.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve data migration challenges, working collaboratively with internal teams and customer IT personnel.

  • Document data migration processes, configurations, and outcomes clearly and concisely.

  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in cloud data migration and radiology informatics.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data migration methodologies and tools.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.  

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in data migration, with a significant focus on healthcare or medical imaging systems (RIS/PACS preferred).  

  • Deep understanding of radiology workflows, DICOM standards, HL7 messaging, and common RIS/PACS database structures.

  • Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their associated data migration services.

  • Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, SQL, PowerShell).

  • Experience with ETL tools and methodologies.

  • Excellent SQL skills and experience working with various database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.  

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.  

  • Experience working directly with enterprise-level customers is highly desirable.

Physical Demands

This position often requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching with hands and arms, using hands and fingers, handling, or feeling, speaking, listening, and high-level cognitive thinking. Also, must be able to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally. The position requires the ability to travel (~25% of time).

 

Working Environment

Remote. This position requires domestic / international travel up to 25%.
