Senior Product Manager, Ultrasound AI
- Remote
- San Diego , California, United States
- $140,000 - $185,000 per year
- Platform and Product Operations
Job description
This role shapes and delivers Ultrasound AI products with clinicians, machine learning engineers, software engineers, and product designers. It scales in-market thyroid and breast ultrasound AI products, already serving hundreds of thousands of patients a year, toward millions of patients a year, and runs discovery and development for new products. The role turns clinical, customer, commercial, and AI model performance insights into clear priorities and helps the team execute. It operates with high autonomy, allocates attention across multiple products at different levels of maturity, and influences decisions through evidence and clear framing.
PLEASE NOTE:
Work Schedule: This role follows a typical 9-hour workday and requires flexibility to work later Pacific Time hours to maintain overlap with our Melbourne-based team. Typical hours are 10:00 AM–7:00 PM PT from April to October and 8:00 AM-5:00 PM PT from March to November (1 hour allotted for lunch). This provides approximately 2–4 hours of overlap with Melbourne mornings, depending on daylight-saving time.
Job requirements
· Contribute to product strategy and execution across in-market scaling products and new ultrasound AI products.
· Work with clinicians to understand clinical workflow, and distinguish stated customer requests from actual problems and clinical need.
· Decide what to build, defer, or stop, making trade-offs based on evidence and judgment.
· Improve in-market products using customer feedback and market insights.
· Own discovery and validation for new ultrasound opportunities, and lead cross-functional delivery from discovery through launch and outcomes.
· Build a knowledge base stakeholders can use across the product lifecycle. Own the what and why behind product decisions, partner with engineering and design on the how, and communicate decisions clearly across distributed teams with high-quality asynchronous documentation.
· Translate clinical and product problems into actionable work with machine learning engineers, and help set model performance metrics that reflect product value for customers.
· Make trade-offs across model performance metrics (accuracy, sensitivity, specificity), error types (false positive versus false negative), workflow, speed, and cost.
· Partner with sales and marketing on customer conversations, positioning, and go-to-market execution. Collaborate with quality assurance and regulatory teams to deliver with speed within medical-device and regulatory constraints.
· Build working relationships across engineering, design, clinical, regulatory, and commercial teams. Influence through evidence and framing, mentor others on product practices and decision quality, and manage attention across multiple products with transparent trade-offs.
PLEASE NOTE: This is not an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities and requirements of the position described above. Other functions may be assigned and management retains the right to add or change duties at any time.
